The Tuesday Twist: 14 March

This week we are getting into the Irish spirit at the studio! What better way to do this than with a lasercut pint!

Oh decisions, decisions! Should we celebrate the holiday with a ice cold pint or by indulging in a sumptuous and hearty Irish stew? Why not combine the two with this mouth-watering recipe for a Slow Cooker Guinness Beef Stew courtesy of the Cookie Rookie.

Or try your hand at one of the boozy Irish treats, perfect for the holiday!

All feasting aside, how familiar are you with the origins and traditions of St. Patrick's Day? I must admit that my knowledge was roughly that of shamrocks, leprechauns, and good old Saint Patrick himself.

While traditions may vary depending on where in the world you celebrate, the authentic origin of St. Paddy's Day is rooted in religion as it was originally a 17th century religious feast day for St Patrick – the patron saint of Ireland and a Christian missionary.
Find out more about St. Patrick in the short video below or by visiting History.com.

St. Patrick's Day may stem from more humble beginnings but it is no surprise that modern variations are celebrated across the world. We love this compilation of famous landmarks lit up for the occasion!

From all of us here at the Urban Twist Studio, have yourself a pint, listen to a little classic Irish music, and above all, have a very safe a happy St. Patrick's Day!
